Surgery

In Keshishian dental esthetic clinic we do operations with various difficulties such as sinus lift, cyst removal, and even impacted wisdom teeth extraction. During sinus lift surgery the bone is added between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses, which are on either side of your nose. A sinus lift is done when there is not enough bone height in the upper jaw, or the sinuses are too close to the jaw.

There are many reasons for doing sinus lift surgery.

  1. Many people who have lost teeth in their upper jaw — particularly the back teeth, or molars — do not have enough bone for implants to be placed.
  2. Bone also may have been lost because of periodontal (gum) disease.
  3. Tooth loss may have led to a loss of bone as well. Once teeth are gone, the bone begins to be resorbed.
  4. The maxillary sinus may be too close to the upper jaw for implants to be placed. The shape and the size of this sinus vary from person to person. The sinus also can get larger as you age.

There are 2 types of sinus lift: close and open. The close sinus lift can be applied if the bone thickness is more than 6 mm.

Jaw cysts

Jaw cysts are growths that tend to develop slowly and for many people, will only show up on an X-ray or scan during a dental appointment. Sometimes though they can get infected and painful or pose a threat to nearby teeth and need to be removed.

Wisdom teeth extraction

Third molars, also called wisdom teeth, are the last set of permanent teeth to erupt in a person's mouth and are the ones least needed. Wisdom teeth can endanger a patient's dental health when:

They erupt through your gum, but your jaw is too small to hold them. As a result, they force other teeth out of alignment and can damage your bite.

They do not erupt through your gum and are not in a normal position. As a result, they crowd the roots of other teeth, force them out of alignment, and can damage your bite.

When your jaw is too small to accommodate normal wisdom teeth, it is common for gum or jaw discomfort and swelling to occur. In addition, there is a greater risk of developing gum (periodontal) disease.
